Born at Crousetown, she was a daughter of the late George and Annie Mae (Johnson) Smith. She was a member of Wesley United Church, Petite Riviere. Surviving are daughters, Pearl, Scarsdale; June, Richmond Hill, Ontario; sons, Ronald, Petite Riviere; Bain, Oak Ridge, Ontario; sister, Freda Fenwick, Courtnay, B.C.; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Phinney; daughter, Susan; sister, Lillian; granddaughter, Shelly. Cremation has taken place. No visitation in the funeral home. Graveside memorial service 1 p.m. Monday in Wesley United Church Cemetery, Petite Riviere, Rev. Ed Cawley officiating. Family flowers only.
