UNKNOWN PAPER - 20 jANUARY 1918 MRS. ALEXANDER MACKAY - This community was shocked on Monday to hear of the death of Mrs. Alexander MacKAY at Waugh's River. Mrs. MacKAY was about 56 years of age. She contracted measles, which developed into pneumonia, resulting in her death. She was very highly esteemed by all who knew her and leaves to mourn in her immediate family one daughter and two sons all at home. The daughter had been teaching at the Waugh's River school, but had to give up her school at the beginning of her mother's illness. Much sympathy is felt for the family as their father died some years ago and they are still quite young. It is only about a year and a half ago that they lost their barns will all their contents - burned by lightning. The funeral, which was very largely attended, was held on Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. J.A. FORBES of Earltown, assisted by the Rev. Wm. FORBES of Tatamagouche, officiating.
