OBIT # 5206 - PICTOU ADVOCATE - 21 OCT 1927: ALEXANDER McLEOD, for many years a resident of Bandon, died Friday, September 9, at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs.MARY McLEOD. Mr.McLeod was past 79 years old and had been an invalid for a long time. He was born in Seafoam, Pictou County, Nova Scotia on March 1, 1848, and came west at the age of 25, first locating in St.Paul., Minn., and later coming to Spokane, Washington, where he lost a younger brother who was killed in a railroad accident. Mr.McLeod was the eldest of seven brothers. He never married. For the past 36 years he had made his home in Coos County. He leaves to mourn their loss three nephews, ALEX, WILLIAM and JACK McLEOD, of Bandon; four nieces, Mrs.HENRY BELLONI and Mrs.OTTO DAVIS, of Coquille; Mrs.LEANDER COX, of Bandon, and Mrs.JAMES DOLLAR, of Union Bay,B.C., besides many sorrowing friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Ellingson chapel Sunday, Sept.4, at 2 o'clock. Interment was made at the Bandon cemetery.
