UNKNOWN PAPER - 18 APRIL 1950 MARION MURRAY - The Falls - Our community was saddened on Friday afternoon, March 24, in the sudden passing of Mrs. Marion MURRAY, a highly esteemed resident of this place at the age of 83 years. Although in failing health for the past year, her passing came as a great shock to her family. She took an active and keen interest in all the affairs of the community, and was ever ready to give assistance in times of sickness. Her life was filled with devotion to others, and her good deeds shall long be remembered. In her home she was tenderly cared for by her ever faithful daughter, Miss Jean and son, Gilbert, who fulfilled her every wish. He husband and eldest son predeceased her several years ago. In the immediate family she is survived by three daughters and four sons, (Anna) Mrs. Archie CAMERON, (Christene) Mrs. Archie McDONALD and Miss Jean at home; Donald in Pictou; John R., Medford, Mass.; Aubrey in Hamilton, Ont., and Gilbert at home, and several grandchildren. Four sisters also survive Mrs. MacKAY, River John; Mrs. Donald MacKAY, Boston, Mass.; Mrs. Catherine BAILLIE; Mrs. George MacKAY, Tatamagouche; and a brother George MacLEOD, The Falls. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian Church, of which she was a faithful member on Monday, March 27, and was conducted by a former pastor Rev. J.H. WILLIAMS of Scotsburn, N.S. Hymns sung were favorites of the deceased and were "The Lord's My Shepherd," "Sweet Bye and Bye" and "Abide With Me." Pall bearers were Archie CAMERON, Archie McDONALD, Lloyd HAYMAN, Clifford CAMERON, Donald MURRAY and James J. SUTHERLAND. The floral tributes were many and beautiful, bearing silent testimony from loved ones and friends. Interment was in the family lot at The Falls Cemetery.
