UNKNOWN PAPER - 27 APRIL 1942 JOHN J. MCLANDERS - The community of Brule mourns the loss of an esteemed and highly respected citizen in the passing of John J. McLANDERS, whose death took place Wednesday afternoon, April 22. He was the second son of the late James D. McLANDERS and Margaret MILLER, and was 58 years of age. He spent a number of years in the Canadian West where he followed his trade as a carpenter, and also in Montreal. He returned home on the death of his father, to carry on the work of farming. Mr. McLANDERS' passing is deeply mourned by his wife (Janet McKAY) and five children: Jean, Margaret, George, Stanley and James, who in early life are thus bereft of a kind and indulgent father. One sister, Mrs. Bessie ROBIN, of Ontario, and two brothers, James of Pictou and Truman of Montreal also survive to mourn their loss. The funeral service was held in Brule Union Church Sunday, April 26, at 2 p.m. Rev. Mr. BRYAN, Presbyterian minister of River John, conducted the service. Interment was in Brule Corner Cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to Mrs. McLANDERS and her children in this hour of bereavement.
