Born at Sandy Point, he was a son of the late Locksworth and Ellen (Peterson) Firth. Surviving are his wife, Ethel (Atwood); stepsons, Blantford William Nickerson and wife Mary, Port LeHerbert; Belton Jack Nickerson and wife Marion, Ingomar; Wayne Arthur and wife Annie, Fraser Lake, B.C.; stepdaughter, Gloria Ann Nickerson, Shelburne; sisters, Ellen (Mrs. Lendall) Nickerson; Bessie Goodick, Sandy Point; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother, Ivan; sister, Ruth Antonia. Visitation today and Wednesday, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Shelburne. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Peter's By the Sea Anglican Church, Sandy Point, Rev. Jim Greene officiating. Burial in Upper Sandy Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Salvation Army.
