Mrs. Auburn Hirtle Handwritten date: July, 1962. Relatives and friends were saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Loie Hirtle of First South whose death occurred at the Victoria General Hospital on Tuesday, July 17th, 1962, following a brief illness. The late Mrs. Hirtle was born at East LaHave. She was the daughter of the late Sydney and Lottie Walters and was 63 years of age. Mrs. Hirtle was a devoted member of the Grace Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Marion (Mrs. Gilbert Rhuland), of First Peninsula; Marjorie (Mrs. Lawrence Croft), of Hebbville; Beulah (Mrs. Ervin Hirtle), of Wileville; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Mullock, Mahone Bay; Mrs. Stanley Beck, Halifax; one brother, Maurice Walters of East LaHave and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was conducted at Grace Lutheran Church by the pastor, Rev. J.S. Slack on Friday, July 20th, at 2 p.m. The hymns sung were "Beautiful Saviour," "My Faith Looks up to Thee," and "Abide With Me." Pall bearers were Willis Zinck, Arthur Richards, Hilton Croft, and Henry Mullock. Interment took place at Centre Cemetery.
