Born at Cornwall, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Jared and Lily (Barkhouse) Barkhouse. She was a member of Nictaux United Baptist Church, Friendly Club and Seniors Club, Kingston. She was an avid bowler and quilter. She enjoyed senior bus tours. Surviving are daughters, Pauline White, Aylesford; Irene Finlayson, Nictaux; Audrey Brown, Melvern Square; sons, Sidney, South Farmington; Donald, Nictaux; Stanley, Nictaux West; sisters,Nellie Naugler, Nictaux South; Bessie Smith, Smith's Cove; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Colin; grandson, David; sisters, Dorothy, Myrtle, Maude, Mildred; brothers, Cameron, Loris, Clinton, Perley. Funeral service 2 p.m. today, in the Nictaux United Baptist Church, Nictaux, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Burial in Nictaux Cemetery. Donations to Nictaux United Baptist Church or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
