    3. John Adam Black 1996 Progress Enterprise John Adam Black, 66, of 140 Green Street, Lunenburg, died June 1, 1996, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born at Lunenburg, he was a son of the late James and Margaret (Moir) Black. He was employed with National Sea Products Limted for approximately 30 years. He was caretaker of the fire hall for the Town of Lunenburg for five years; WMF Warehouse, Scarborough, Ontario for one year; custodian at North Minister United Church, Oshawa for 11 years, before his retirement. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg; Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, Lunenburg; active member of Lunenburg Fire Department for 22 years, and at the time of his death was an honourary member. In his earlier years he was involved with the Reserve Army of Lunenburg County. For many years he sang with the Lunenburg Sea Products Highliner Choir. Surviving are his wife, the former Ethel Arenburg; daughters, Heather (Mrs. Oran Hyson), Lunenburg; Linda (Mrs. Carmen Goodwin), Mt. Thom; Carolyn (Mrs. Douglas Forsyth), Kentville; son, Kendall, Lunenburg; sisters, Jessie (Mrs. Charles Brine), Lunenburg; Mrs. Annie Frampton, Lunenburg; Elsie (Mrs. Peder Haddal), Dorothy (Mrs. James Aulenback), Bridgewater; brother, George, Lunenburg; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a step grandson; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Thomas and James; sisters, Margaret and Clara; granddaughter, Jannell; several other brothers and sisters. Funeral was 2 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 1996, Rev. Dianne Parker officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. Family flowers only. Donations to Lunenburg Fire department, Canadian Cancer Society, or any charity. Arrangements entrusted to Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg.
