    3. UNKNOWN PAPER - 1950 ROBERT E. MACKAY - In the passing of Robert E. MacKAY, Earltown has lost one of its best known and highly respected citizens. He was a successful farmer and lumberman. He was a public-spirited man and took an active interest in church, school and everything that was for the welfare of the community. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John HENNIGAR of Northfield, and Mrs. Harold SUTHERLAND, West Branch; two sons, Paul T. and John R.E., Earltown, also a brother and two sisters in the west. His wife predeceased him many years ago, also a daughter Mina, two years ago. The funeral was held from the United Church and was largely attended. The service was conducted by Rev. Mr. WAGNER. The pall bearers were George TAYLOR, Lawrence SUTHERLAND, Wm J. MacDONALD, Murray GUNN, D.H. MacKAY and A.A. MURRAY. The unusually large number attending the service and the beautiful floral tributes bore silent testimony of the esteem in which the deceased was held throughout the country. Deepest sympathy is extended to the sorrowing family in their sad bereavement.
