Eugene C. Baker 1978 Bridgewater Bulletin Eugene Calvin Baker, 83, of New Germany, died April 6, in the Victoria General Hospital. Born at Chelsea, he was a son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Leary) Baker. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Banks. Funeral service was conducted on April 8 by Rev. Daniel Swim, founder of the United Pentecostal Church, Bridgewater, assisted by Rev. John Mean, Supt. of Maritime District; and Pastor Kenneth Anderson of the Bridgewater Church. A vital message was given on "Religion or Salvation?" Eugene was a member of the church in Bridgewater. Burial was in Parkdale-Maplewood Cemetery. For more than 45 years he has been a member of Strathcona Lodge, IOOF, Liverpool. Many donations were received for the Gideon Bible Society, the church, and the Heart Fund.
