    3. OBIT # 5252 - EASTERN CHRONICLE - FEBRUARY 1940 The death took place in Aberdeen Hospital, of a well known citizen in JOSEPH SCOTT, bricklayer. He was in his 86th year and had only been ill a few weeks. He was a man that had many friends and a high class tradesman. He was born in Wentworth, NS and the greater part of his life was spent in this county. He was an upright citizen and reared a large family of five sons and daughters. They are: JAMES in Trenton; WALTER, RUSSELL, CHALMERS, JACK, of Flint ,Michigan, and HENRY of Malden, Mass; JANIE (Mrs.E.Leithead), New Glasgow; SADIE(Mrs.John B. Clarke),Chignecto,N.S. There also survive twenty-three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. The funeral service was held in Trenton United Church, after a brief service in the home of his son JAMES. The service was a very impressive one in the church. It was conducted by Rev.R.W. Braine, assisted by Rev.Wm.Ooms, New Glasgow. The remains were taken to River John where interment took place.
