Margaret Elva Mae Smith 2006 Halifax CHronicle Herald It is with great sadness that we announce the paassing of our mother on March 22, 2006, in Maplestone Enhanced Care Facility, Halifax. She was formerly of Hemford and celebrated her 90th. birthday on December 24. She was born at Newburne and was a daughter of the late Perlie and Mable (Veinot) Oickle. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by son, Vernon (Rosaleen) Smith, Union Square; daughters, Verna Oickle (Robert Baggs), Norma (Alfred) Veinot, both of Halifax; Diane (Keith) McCarthy, Hammonds Plains; Sherry Johnson (John Speller), Sackville; sisters, Phyllis Oickle, Lower Northfield; Frances Feindel, Aylesford; grandchildren, Peter, Terry, and Trent Smith, Karen Robar, Kevin and Blaine Oickle, Tammy Ramsdale, Greg, Krista, Joy, and Jonathan Veinot, Jana McCarthy, Jeremy and Nathan Johnson; 11 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ellard; son, Emerson; grandsons, Brian, Larry; granddaughter, Rose. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, where funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday March 27, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Burial in Hemford Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society or Maplestone Enhanced Care Facility, Halifax. A reception for family and friends will be held at the Hemford Fire Hall immediatley following the interment. Special thanks to our cousin, Cherlynn; staff and nursing staff of Evans Court, Maplestone, Halifax, for their love and excellent care they gave to our mother and our families.
