Alfred Emerson Aalders 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, January 18, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Alfred Emerson Aalders, 77, Hatchet Lake, Halifax County, died January 16, 2000, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Harvey and Nora (Legge) Aalders. During the war years he was a member of the Military Police 37, 38, and 45 Companies; a former member of Fairview Masonic Lodge 126, where he was master in 1969. He served as Secretary of Charity, Masonic Lodge, Mahone Bay for several years and was appointed Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia AF&AM. At the time of his retirement, he was a Platoon Chief with the DND Dockyard Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, the former Katherine Margaret Fry; daughters, Corinne Hartlley Robinson, Bonita Aalders, Hatchet Lake; sisters, Minnie Snow, Madison, Tennessee; Leta Ferguson, Halifax; brothers, Gerald, Donald, Halifax; Victor, Kinsac. He was predeceased by his brothers, John, Richmond, Cyril. Arrangements have been entrusted to T.K. Barnard Funeral Home, Halifax. Graveside service at a later date in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations to any charity. His sister, Minnie Snow, was Mrs. Hank Snow.
