Florence May Louetta Herman 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, February 3, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Florence May Louetta Herman, 83, Halifax, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 30, 2000, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born at East LaHave, she was a daughter of the late Foster and Jennie (Faulkenham) Lohnes. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Halifax. She worked for the former Simpson's retail store at the paastry counter where she was fondly known by many children as the "Cookie Lady." She is survived by daughters, Marilyn and husband John Cameron, Bedford; Sandra and husband Eric Lavers, Halifax; Janet Herman, Calgary; grandchildren, Jennifer Lavers, Paul Lavers and wife Debbie, Kelly Cameron and Jay Cameron, all of Halifax; Shane Herman and Tina Herman, both of Calgary; and great-grandaughter,Hailee Cameron, Halifax; sister, Mable Goodearl, Cape Cod, Mass.; sisters-in-law, Eva Lohnes, Halifax and Rose Lohnes, Maple Ridge, B.C. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who are very special in her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Bertram Herman; sons, George and John Wayne; sister, Pauline Schrader; brothers, Warren, Garnet, Victor, and Keith; twin infant granddaughters and a special friend, Parker Cruikshank. Cremation has taken place.The family will receive friend from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, in the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Windsor and Allen Streets, Halifax, Pastor Rebecca Eckhart, assisted by Pastor David Maginlet officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Memorial donations to The Lung Association or Peace Lutheran Church, Lower Sackville, would be appreciated.
