UNKNOWN PAPER - 18 APRIL 1958 MARIA CHRISTENA COCK - The funeral of Maria Christena, wife of H. Burton COCK, of Denmark, Colchester County, was held from Tatamagouche Mountain Church on Wednesday, April 9 at 2 p.m. Mrs. COCK passed away at her home Monday, April 7, from a stroke suffered a few hours earlier in the day. She was born at Tatamagouche Mountain, the daughter of the late Hugh MacKAY and Annie FERGUSON. Before her marriage she taught school. The greater part of her life was spent at Tatamagouche Mountain, where she was a member of the United Church and a life long member of Tatamagouche Mountain W.M.S. Due to failing health she and her husband about ten years ago left their farm and moved to Hopewell, Pictou County, and later to Denmark Station. She was 80 years of age, and was predeceased by one sister and one brother. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Helen, Mrs. Henry STEVENSON, Milford, Halifax County; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Interment was at Tatamagouche Mountain cemetery. Pall bearers were Hedley WILSON, of Oliver, Aubrey TUCKER, Robert HARIS, Elmon, Gordon and MacK BAILEY, all of Tatamagouche Mountain. Hymns sung were "The Lord's My Shepherd" and "The Sweet Bye and Bye". A quartette from Denmark and Middleton Church sang "We Are Going Down the Valley".
