    3. Reginald Charles Naugler 1943 On Sunday afternoon, May 13, at 2:30 o'clock, a memorial service was held at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Upper LaHave, for Reginald Charles Naugler, who was lost at sea October 29, 1942, when his ship was sunk by enemy action. The church was crowded with friends and relatives of the deceased who gathered to pay a tribute of respect to the memory of one who was so well-known to them. The service was conducted by Rev. R. Copeland, who spoke in an appropriate and consoling manner to the bereaved ones. After the hymn,"Safe in the Arms of Jesus," a lovely tablet of white marble was placed in the church by the deceased's mother in memory of her kind and faithful son, and was unveiled by his cousin, Dalton Randall. The tablet bore the following inscription: "In loving memory of Reginald C. Naugler, son of Melbourne and Etta Naugler, age 25 years, a member of the Merchant Navy who lost his life October 29, 1942, through the torpedoing of "S.S. Bic Island," on passage to Scotland." "The memory of one we cherish Is ours unchanged forever." The floral offerings were taken from the church and put on the graves of the deceased relatives.
