Beulah May Landry 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Thursday, February 17, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Chrisite Beulah May Landry, Dartmouth, died February 15, 2000, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born at Lower Jordan Bay, Shelburne County, she was a daughter of the late Burns and Harriett (Thorburn) Locke. Her various careers over the year included owner/operator of both the South Park Beauty Salon and South Park Tourist Lodge Halifax, later retiring as a nurse from the Old Halifax Infirmary Hospital. In later years she devoted her talents to sewing, knitting, and the making of crafts and was a member of the Dartmouth Handcrafters Guild. She is survived by sons, Donald and wife Bernice, Dartmouth; John and wife Norma, Miami; sisters, Minnie and Hilda; brother, Edgar; granddaughters, Shelley, Sheri, Susanne, Charmaine, and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Nason, Jenna. She was predeceased by her husband, John Everett; sister, Murial and brother, Alden. Family will receive visitors Friday, February 18, from 6 p.m. until service time at 7 p.m., in Mattatall Funeral Home, Dartmouth, Rev. Harvey Seasons officiating. Burial will take place in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
