OBIT # 5554 - EASTERN CHRONICLE - 22 AUGUST 1940 The death of SUTHERLAND MacDOUGALL occured at his home , Acadia Avenue, Stellarton, following an illness of about a year. He was born at Stellarton 60 years ago., the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. JOHN ALLAN MacDOUGALL, and was the last surviving member of the family. For the past 18 years he was manager of the Albion Mine of the Acadia Coal Company, and was held in high esteem by employers and employees. Mr. Sutherland was a member of Sharon-St.John United Church and contributed liberally to its support. He was also an active member of Fuller Lodge, I.O.O.F., and Past Grand of the Order. Surviving are his wife and one daughter, MRS. NEWMAN S. MacDONALD, New Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews. Burial was made at Brookside cemetery.
