Lisa O. Connell 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Thursday, February 17, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Lisa O. Connell, 84, Middleton, passed away on February 15, 2000, in Soldierd Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born at Binslev, Denmark, she was the daughter of the late Maria (Jenson) and Christopher Ostergaard. She loved her family, grandchildren, home, and her many knick knacks. She was a member of the Contemporary Club, loved to travel, play cards, cook, knit, and crochet. She was a former member of the Wilmot Women's Institute and Middleton Fireflies. In 1996, Lisa fulfilled a lifelong dream by publishing a cookbook, "Kitchen to Kitchen from Lisa's to Yours," of her favourite recipes. Surviving are daughters, Gloria (Mrs. Carl Robar), Middleton; Ann (Mrs. Elmer Brown), Winnipeg; Patricia (Mrs. Elmer Veinot), Bowmanville, Ontario; Judy (Mrs. Earle Corbin), Yarmouth; sons, David, Brian, both of Kitimat, British Columbia; sisters, Margaret (Mrs. Alan Steeves), Hope, British Columbia; Esther Jacklyn, Norma Badge, both of Brantford, Ontario; Ruth (Jerry) Provencher, Calgary; brother, Harry (Pat) Ostergaard, Brantford; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; sister, Mona; brother, Eric; grandchild, Darren Corbin; and daughter-in-law, Jewell. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m Saturday and funeral 2 p.m. Sunday, both in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
