    3. Mrs. Max Feindel 1963 Bridgewater Bulletin Handwritten date: March 8, 1963. A gloom was cast over the community and surrounding ddistricts when L.M. Feindel received the sad news that Evelyn, his beloved wife had passed away at the V.G. Hospital, Halifax. She had been hospitalized since Christmas, being home only once since then. She had been in failing health for the past six years. Her family and loved ones had hoped for a recovery but medical aid and loving care were to no avail. She passed away on Friday, March 8th, leaving a broken home. Born at Watford, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Thomas and Lalia Morton Bell. She was 42 years of age. During the war years while her husband was overseas she lived with her eldest son, then a little boy in Halifax, with her sister, Mrs. Douglas Laidlaw. The remainder of her life was spent in New Germany where her husband conducted a meat and grocery business and where she endeared herself to all who knew her. She was a faithful member of the United Church Women's Group and was always ready to help with a good cause. The funeral service, which was held on Sunday afternoon, was largely attended and was held at the United Church of which she was a devout member. The service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. P.S. MacDonald who spoke comforting words to the family and friends. Hymns sung were "The Lord's My Shepherd" and "Forever With the Lord." Interment was in the New Community Cemetery. Surviving to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother are her husband and three sons, Linwood with the Civil Service Department, Halifax; Tommy and Neil, at home. Also to mourn her loss are a sister, Doris (Mrs. Douglas Laidlaw), somewhere in Germnay; and a brother, Crossfield Bell of New Germany and other relatives and close friends.
