OBIT # 5454 - EVENING NEWS - 22 MAY 1984 JAMES WILLIAM (Billy) DALTON, 83, of Edward Mortimer Place, and formerly of West River Road, Pictou, died Saturday in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Pictou he was a son of the late WILLIAM and CLARA (Cooke) DALTON. He was a well known sportsman, having played on Pictou teams and also for a Charlottetown senior hockey team. He was past president of the International Longshoremen's Association and operated a billiard hall in Pictou until retiring. He was a member of the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, the former DOROTHY CORRIGAN; three daughters, MRS. MARJORIE GARNIER, Wellington, Halifax Co; DOROTHY, Pictou; and PATSY (Mrs. Carl Downey); a son, WILLIAM, both of St. Catherine's, Ont.; a sister, HILDA, Pictou; a brother, ALFRED, Scotch Hill and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister MONA and a brother ARTHUR. The remains are resting in McLaren Funeral Home,Pictou. Funeral was at 10am Tuesday in Stella Maris Church, with interment in the church cemetery.
