    3. Max R. Wentzell 1947 Bridgewater Bulletin Upper Branch- This community was saddened on December 28 last, when news was received of the passing of Max Wentzell, at the D.M. Hospital. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wentzell and was born May 11th, 1919. Although seriously ill for several weeks, hopes were held for his recovery until within a few days of his death. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in Holland, Belgium, France, and Germany. He had been seriously wounded and spent considerable time in hospital in England. On October 16, 1947, he was married to Miss Verna Meisner, of West Northfield. He is survived y his bride, his parents, five brothers, and one sister. The brothers are Earl of Branch LaHave; Ronald of West Northfield; Rex, Mark, and Glen, at home and sister, Rita, at home. The funeral sermon was conducted by the Rev. W.G. Minke in the church at West Northfield. In his sermon, Rev. Minke dwelt on the story of the son of the widow of Nain, Luke 7. Hymns sung were "Nearer, My God, to Thee," "Peace, Perfect Peace," and "Asleep in Jesus." >From the church the funeral procession proceeded to Upper Branch. The flag-draped casket was borne by four veterans and laid to rest in the family lot in Upper Branch Cemetery. Pall bearers were James Bruhm, Rex Bruhm, Frank Meldrum, and Lester Veinot.
