    3. UNKNOWN PAPER - 21 JUNE 1949 DAVID R. DONALDSON - Friends in Colchester and Pictou Counties were shocked and saddened on June 16 when it was learned that David R. DONALDSON had passed away that morning, at the home of his nephew, W.D. LANGILLE, following an illness of less than an hour of a heart ailment. Mr. DONALDSON's home was in Belmont, Mass., but his birthplace was in Tatamagouche, and he never forgot his "Down East" friends. Almost every summer he spent several weeks with relatives in Tatamagouche renewing old friendships, and also enjoyed fishing which was his favorite pastime. While in Tatamagouche he was interested and helpful in Activities of the Church and was a valued member of The Men's Club of Sharon Church. Mr. DONALDSON was a man of sterling integrity, and fine Christian character, and his pleasant kindly manner won him many friends. He was prominent in the work of the Union Square Church of Somerville, Mass., of which he was a member and also in many other phases of Christian work one in particular being Westminster Foundation, of which he was president of The Board of Trustees. Mr. DONALDSON's wife, the former Ella WOOD of St. John, predeceased him ten years ago. Two sisters, Mrs. A. G. MacDONALD of Tatamagouche and Miss Alice DONALDSON of Belmont, Mass., and one brother James of New Glasgow survive. The funeral at Tatamagouche on Saturday afternoon was conducted by Rev. G. BRUCE assisted by Rev. G.E. WHIDDEN, both of whom paid tribute to the fine Christian character of the deceased. Members of Sharon Choir sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Some Day the Silver Cord Will Break" was sung as a solo by Roland LANGILLE. On Tuesday, June 1, interment was made in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Mass. The service in the Chapel was conducted by his pastor, Rev. Mr. MacELROY assisted by Rev. C.H. ROSE.
