    3. Mrs. Elmer Kaulback 1967 Bridgewater Bulletin Handwritten date: June 12, 1967. Mrs. Elmer Kaulback, a well-known resident of Maplewood, passed away Monday morning, June 12th, at her home, after a lengthy illness of six years. She was born in Northern Ireland, daughter of the late William and Mary (Cole) Murtland. She was a nursing sister during the First World War and came to Canada in December, 1919, and lived at Stanburne, later moving to Maplewood. Funeral services were held at the Emmanuel Baptist C, Parkdale, on June 14th, with Rev. Donald Robertson officiating. The choir sang two favourite hymns, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Haven of Rest." Interment was in the family plot where services were conducted by Rhodora Rebekah Lodge and by comrades and auxiliary members of the Royal Canadian Legion, New Germany, Branch 102. Pall bearers were Comrades Ezra Eisnener, Lemuel Lohnes, John Mader, Oswald Russell, Warren Trethewey, and Robert Emeneau. She is survived by her husband; a foster son, his wife, and three grandchildren; also two sisters and a brother in Northern Ireland. She was predeceased by three sons, two in infancy, and one at the age of seven years.
