Harry Havelock Durling 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, August 22, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Harry Havelock Durling, 66, Torbrook Mines, died August 21, 2000, at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born at Torbrook, he was a son of the late Havelock and Alma (Fredericks) Durling. He was a member of Torbrook Mines United Baptist Church. He drove taxi and was a rural mail driver in Bridgetown for many years. He was formerly employed at United Elastic, Bridgetown. He was the caretaker at Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton, for a number of years.He enjoyed bluegrass music and trvelling on his four-wheeler. Surviving are his wife, the former Barbara Stevens-Crouse; stepdaughters, Phyllis (Mrs. Gilbert Bent), Victoria Vale; Margaret (Mrs. Al Dalrymple), Tupperville; Beverly (Mrs. Gerald Marshall), East Torbrook; sisters, Helen Baltzer, Kingston; Mable (Mrs. Robie Banks), Torbrook; Maxine (Mrs.Glenwood Trask), Lawrencetown; brother, Keith (Marion), Nictaux; eight step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother, Lester. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton. Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday in Torbrook United Baptist Church, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Burial in Torbrook Mines Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Torbrook United Baptist Church or charity of choice.
