Chester Lawrence Bower 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Wednesday, February 2, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Chester Lawrence Bower, 74, Upper Ohio, Shelburne County, died February 1, 2000, in the Roseway Hospital, Sandy Point. Born at Upper Ohio, he was a son of the late James and Beatrice (Jones) Bower. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved gardening and was a great card player. He was a school bus driver for the Selburne District School board for 27 years. Surviving are sons, Spencer, Karamat, Ontario; Kerry and Janice, Hornpayne, Ontario; Chris and Randy, Upper Ohio; daughters, Yvonne Hemeon, Shelburne and Marsha Bower, Upper Ohio; brother, Lindsay, Calgary; sisters, Emma Harris, Welshtown; Grace Swayne, Calgary; grandsons, Jason and Brian; great-granddaughter, Mekayla. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth (Harris); son, Dale; brothers, Melvin and Spencer. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday; Royal Canadian Legion service 7 p.m. Thursday; funeral 2 p.m. Friday, all in H.M. Huskilson Funeral Home, Shelburne, Rev. Sid Snow officiating. Burial in Upper and Middle Ohio Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to Upper and Middle Ohio Church or any charity.
