Allen Clifford Conrad 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Thursday, February 17, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Allen Clifford Conrad, 47 Renfew, Dartmouth, formerly of Lawrencetown, Halifax County, passed away February 15, 2000, at home. Born at Lawrencetown, he was a son of the late Bernard and Norma (Eisenhauer) Conrad. He was employed for over 18 years wuth Waterworks Construction. He enjoyed chess, history, reading, motorcycles, woodworking, boats, and serving a great meal. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. He was a gentle man with a sense of humour that would make you laugh until you cried. His daughter, Kathryn, was his True North. To know him was to love him. He is survived by his former wife, Cindy Carter; daughter, Kathryn, Lawrencetown; brothers, Hollis (Jean), West Porter's Lake; Weldon (Sandra), West Lawrencetown; Donald (Marilyn) Carstairs, Alberta; sister, Glenna Conrad Lopez, Cole Harbour; a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a niece, Leslie. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today February 17, and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday in J. Albert Walker and Sons Funeral Home, Cole Harbour Road, Cole Harbour. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 19, in the Calvin United Church, Lawrencetown, Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. Burial will be in the Lawrencetown Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Allen's name may be made to the Calvin United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
