Walton L. Smith 1990 Bridgewater Bulletin West Northfield- Walton L. Smith, 65, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 1990, at the South Shore Regional Hospital. Born at West Northfield, he was the son of Albert Smith and the late Lillian (Wentzell) Smith. Following 40 years of working as an electrician in Brantford, Ontario, Halifax, and Bridgewater, he semi-retired in 1985. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church; the I.O.O.F. LaHave Lodge, No. 60; and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 24. He was a Second World War veteran serving overseas in the army and the provost corps. He is survived by his wife, the former Lena Wile; two daughters, Judith (Mrs. Michael Cameron), Halifax; Janice (Mrs. Keith Moores), Kentville; a brother, Carroll, Brantford; a sister, Jean (Mrs. Clayton Spidle, Lower Cornwall; a half-sister, Diane (Mrs. Pat Thorne), Ontario. He was predeceased by a son, David; and a brother, Leon. The memorial service was held on Thursday, April 5, 1990, at 2 p.m. from St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Willis Ott officiating. The hymns "How Great Thou Art" and "I Know that my Redeemer Lives." Burial of ashes at Brookside Cemetery.
