Oliver, 86, Milton, Queens County, passed away Friday, November 18, 2005, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Born at Birchy Head (Mill Cove) on April 21, 1919, she was a daughter of the late William Garvie and Victoria (Awalt) Harnish. She was a Brownie leader with the Milton Girl Guides for over 20 years. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Milton Canoe and Camera Club and the Thursday Seniors Activity Group. Surviving are her sister, Hilda Schwartz, Shoreham Village, Chester; grandson, Christian, Halifax; daughter-in-law, Pamela, Milton; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Perry (1987); sons, Cecil (1955); Charles (1978); Paul (1999); sisters, Silva, Ileen, Olive; brothers, Arnold, Reginald, Granville, Earl. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 22, at 11 a.m. in Milton Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Rev. Jerry Ridling officiating. Burial will be in Milton Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Milton Community Cemetery or Milton Canoe and Camera Club.
