Born at Newport, South Wales, England, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Eileen Mitchell. He was a veteran of the Second World War. Surviving are his former wife, Florence Amelia (Jones) Bambury, Bridgewater; daughters, Linda Corkum, East Chester; Diane Munroe, Dartmouth; sons, Benjamin, Calgary; Guy, Thomas, Bridgewater; one sister and one brother, Newport, South Wales, England.
