OBIT # 5516 -EASTERN CHRONICLE - 19 FEBRUARY 1942 JOHN LIVINGSTONE CAMPBEL - MOOSE RIVER - There passed away om Feb.7th, 1942, JOHN LIVINGSTONE CAMPBELL at the age of 79 years and six months, a life long resident of Moose River, youngest son of the late WILLIAM and EFFIE (Livingstone) CAMPBELL. He spent all his life on the Old Homestead and was the last of a family of seven, three brothers and three sisters having predeceased him. Mr. Campbell knew and appreciated music and for many years was Choir Director of the Blair Presbyterian Church, Garden of Eden, which he faithfully attended as long as his health permitted. Having been laid aside by failing health he passed many lonely hours happily singing sacred music, as since the death of his sister CHRISTINE sixteen years ago, with whomhe lived The funeral took place from Kirk Presbyterian Church, Blue Mountain on Tuesday, Feb.10th at 2pm. The service which was well attended was conducted by the Rev.Alexander Mills of Thorburn. The Blue Mountain choir led the singing of the favorite hymns of the deceased: "The Lord Is My Shepherd", "Asleep in Jesus, Blessed Sleep", The Sands Of Time Are Sinking". Interment took place in the family plot at Moose River Cemetery. The pall bearers were Dan Chisholm, Alex Stalker, John A. Munro, Albert Chisholm, Judson MacLean and Gerald MacLean.
