    3. Alice G. Demond 1978 Bridgewater Bulletin Alice G. Demond passed away at the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital on May 23, at the age of 74. She had been in failing health for a number of years. She was born at Apple River, Cumberland County, on April 20, 1904, the daughter of the late James and Maude Cuthbertson. She moved to Upper Cornwall as the wife of the late Guy Demond where she resided until June 1, 1977 when she became a patient at the Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay. She is survived by four sons, John, Brandon, Manitoba; Sidney, Winnipeg; William and Rodger, Upper Cornwall; and a daughter, Susie (Mrs. Ronnie Grimm Jr.), Parkdale; also one stepson, George, Upper Cornwall; and a stepdaughter, Mary Illingworth, Simpson's Cornerl;24 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Annie Silver, Scarborough, Maine. She was predeceased by her husband, a sister, and three infant sons. Her body rested at Langille's Funeral Home, New Germany. The well attended funeral was held on Friday, May 26, at 2 p.m. from Langille's Funeral Home with the service conducted by Rev. Eric Miner who spoke very comforting words to those who mourned. Organist was Rev. William Chard. Hymns rendered included her favourites,"The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages." Interment was in the family plot at the Union Square Cemetery. Pallbearers were her five nephews, Stuart Joudrey, Ray Joudrey, Andrew Wentzell, William Silver, Russell Wile and a close friend, Frank Fancy.
