UNKNOWN PAPER - APRIL 1976 MARTIN JAMES ROSS - New Minas - Martin James ROSS, 60, of Prospect Street, died Saturday in Blanchard-Fraser Memorial Hospital. Born in West Branch, he was a son of Mary Ellen (MURRAY) and the late Daniel ROSS. He was a member of St. Paul and St. Stephen United and was past noble grand of IOOF Hiawatha Lodge and past captain of the Canton. He was past chief patriarch of Basil Encampment and treasurer of Hiawatha Lodge and color bearer of Canton Halifax No. 1 Lodge. He was a member of St. Eulalie Rebekah Lodge and a life member of St. Ninias Masonic Lodge 66. He was a veteran of The Second World War serving in the Canadian Forester Corps and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Kings Branch 6. Surviving besides his wife, the former Mary DRUMMON, are: a daughter, Elizabeth, at home; three sons, Angus, Sackville; Ian, Hull, Que.; Allan, Dartmouth; two brothers, Charles, Tatamagouche; Walter, Wallace. He was predeceased by a son and a sister. The body is in the W.C. Hiltz Funeral Home, where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Ian MacDONALD officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove cemetery. Donations may be made to Blanchard-Fraser Memorial Hospital.
