Joseph Stanley Bis Jr. 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Saturday, February 5, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Joseph Stanley Bis Jr., 51, East Chester, died February 3, 2000, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, surrounded by his family. He received the sacrament of last rites from Rev. Michael Walsh. Born at Hartford, Connecticut, he was the only son of the late Joseph Stanley Sr. and Elizabeth (Procacinni) Bis. He was employed for 21 years with Nova Scotia Power Corporation. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War; a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Butler Branch 44, Chester; a member of Chester Golf Club and thoroughly enjoyed the game. He was educated in Hartford and went on to train as a linesman. He was a loyal friend with a sharp wit and a great sense of humour. Survived by his loving partner, Susan Mosher, East Chester; his first wife, Adele (Johnson) Simard, North Carolina; his second wife, Susan (Walker) Saunders, West Paradise, Annapolis County; son, Joseph DeBlois, West Paradise; daughter, Nicole Elizabeth Bis, Amherst; eldest daughter, Kristen Marie (Mrs. Paul Caramanica), Connecticut; step daughter, Tracy Karen Browne, Bridgewater; grandson, Anthony Robert. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday in Aenon United Baptist Church, Chester Basin, Rev. Leo Gallant officiating. Family flowers only.
