Charles Edwin Sears 2009 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Monday, July 6, 2009. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Charles Edwin Sears, 71, Shag Harbour, passed away July 3, 2009, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born at Clam Point, he was a son of the late John Albert and Mildred Louise (Nickerson) Sears. Charles was a member of Bear Point Advent Christian Church, Canadian Cancer Society, and the Terry Fox Run Committee. He enjoyed talking to many friends on the VHF. He is survived by his wife, Melba (Cunningham), Shag Harbour; son, Robert (Stacy), Doctor's Cove; stepson, Carson, Fraser Lake, British Columbia; stepdaughters, Emma (Craig) Nickerson, The Hawk; Gena Messenger, Surrey, British Columbia; brother, John (Brenda), Charlesville; sisters, Vera (Harold) Smith, Atwood's Brook; Lorraine Shand, Bear Point; Flora (Royden) Atkinson, Doctor's Cove; grandchildren, Nathan, Natalie, and Nevan; 11 step grandchildren, and nine step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Iva Marie; daughter, Helena; sisters, Mary, Rowena, and Berrnice. Visitation will be held today from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. in Huskilson's Funeral Home, Barrington. Funeral will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m. in H. Huskilson's Memorial Chapel, Barrington, Dr. Alvin McComiskey officiating. Burial will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Bear Point. Family flowers only.
