Greville McKay Hynick 2009 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, July 7, 2009. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Greville McKay Hynick- It is with great sadness that the family of the late Greville McKay Hynick, 66, Blue Rocks, announce his sudden passing on Saturday, July 4, 2009, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at Blue Rocks, he was a son of the late Blake and Nina (Tanner) Hynick. Greville started his working career with Kenneth Crouse's Store, Lunenburg and then went to sea as a scallop fisherman. He later went to work with National Sea Products for 29 years, retiring in 1993. Greville was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed the simple pleasures of hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time camping with friends and playing the guitar. He was a friend to many and will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. He is survived by his wife, the former Doreen (Lowe) Hynick; sisters, Sheila (Harold) Mossman, East LaHave; Diane (Kenneth) Zinck, Oakhill; Lorine (Norman) Shott, Fredericton; Judy (Robert) Ernst, Mahone Bay; Betty (William) Hillier, Blue Rocks; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Jeanette; brothers, Reginald, Richard, Leon, Paul, and an infant brother, Blake Ellsworth. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, where a serive to celebrate Greville's life will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., Rev. Robert Zinck officiating. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the charity of your choice.
