Winfield Earl DeLong 1973 Bridgewater Bulletin Winfield Earl DeLong, 57, died Saturday, February 10, at his residence in Barss Corner. He was born at Barss Corner, a son of Mrs. Roxie (Mossman) DeLong and the late Emery DeLong. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Maysie; three daughters, Elaine (Mrs. Earl Hubley), of New Germany; Susan and Kimley, at home; and a son, Gerald, Barss Corner, who was associated in business with his father. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Todd, Troy, Trent Hubley and Julianne DeLong; a brother, Reginald of New Germany and a sister, Sylvia (Mrs. Owen Ramey), of Barss Corner. He ws engaged in mixed farming in Barss Corner and in later years particularly in the Christmas tree industry. He was acquainted with and active in community projects over the years. Possessed with a friendly nature, he had a host of friends and acquaintances, many of whom paid last respects at the funeral service held from the Barss Corner Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 14. He was a member of this church and his pastor, Rev. Carrol Armstrong conducted the service. The church choir led in the singing of hymns"O God of Bethel" and "He Leadeth Me." Pastor Armstrong read selected passages of scripture and he spoke words of comfort on the thought "Life and Hope from Above."
