    3. UNKNOWN PAPER - 18 JANUARY 1944 GEORGE ALEXANDER THOMPSON - Central New Annan - On Monday afternoon, Jan. 10, there passed to his eternal rest, George Alexander THOMPSON age 80 years. Although in failing health for sometime, his death came very suddenly and unexpected, being confined to his bed for only a few days. He was born at Central New Annan the son of the late James THOMPSON, and Christy LOGAN THOMPSON, and of their large family of twelve children only two remain, Malcolm, at the old homestead, Central New Anna, and Robert of Cochranton, Pennsylvania. Several nieces and nephews are also left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving uncle. He was married in 1832 to Mrs. Maud COULTER who passed away last August. Since the time of his marriage he resided in Tatamagouche until last July, when he moved back to the home of his brother Malcolm, who tenderly cared for him, as did also his nephews, Raymond THOMPSON and his wife. The funeral service, conducted by Rev. J.C. LEADBEATER, was held from the Central New Annan Church on Wednesday, January 12. Hymns sung were "Jesus Lover of My Soul," "Asleep in Jesus," and "We are Going Down the Valley". The pall-bears were: John, D. MacKAY, and Aubrey TUCKER. Floral tributes from relatives and friends were very beautiful. The remains were laid to rest in the family lot, at the Bell Gift Cemetery, West New Annan, beside those of his brother Albert, who departed this life six years ago last November.
