    2. Darres McCormick Collection; unidentified newspaper; undated. Book 57, pg. 123 Halifax Herald published his obit on Monday, 27 June 1966. Hugh G. FISHER BROOKFIELD - Hugh Garnet Fisher, Brookfield, 49, passed away at Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax, on Sunday morning after a few weeks illness. Mr. Fisher was born at Middle Stewiacke, the son of the late Austin and Laura Corbett. A resident of Brookfield for the past 11 years, he served in the Canadian Army with the Sherbrooke Fusiliers and the British Columbia Regiment overseas during the war. At the time of his death, he was president of the Stewiacke branch of the Canadian Legion. He was a member of Knox United Church, Brookfield, and of the Board of Stewards. He was a past master of Elm Lodge, Upper Stewiacke, AF and AM, and a member of Scottish Rite. He was very active in community affairs. Mr. Fisher was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Elbert. Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Fulton; two sisters, Miss Ida Fisher, Medford, Mass.; and Elizabeth (Mrs. Watson Conrad) of Middle Musquodoboit. The body is at the Mattatall Funeral Home in Truro. Funeral service will be held in Knox United Church, Brookfield, tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. A. Brown officiating. Interment will be at Brookfield Cemetery.
