Darres McCormick Collection; Book 57, pg. 123 Halifax Herald published his obit on 9 June 1966 Elbert Austin FISHER LEXINGTON, Mass. - Elbert Austin Fisher, 56, formerly of Middle Stewiacke, was buried in Westview Cemetery, Lexington, Friday. Born in Brighton, Mass., he was a son of the late Austin and Laura (Corbett) Fisher. He came with his parents to Middle Stewiacke at the age of four, and in 1940, went to the United States where he was employed at the Boston Navy Yard as a welder for 20 years. Mr. Fisher was a member of the Lexington Methodist Church. Surviving besides his wife, the former Susan Gillingham of Newfoundland, are one daughter, Lorraine, 12; two sisters, Miss Ida M. Fisher of Medford, Mass.; Elizabeth (Mrs. Watson E. Conrad) of Middle Musquodoboit; one brother, Hugh G. Fisher of Brookfield, Colchester County. The funeral service was in the Lexington Methodist Church.
