Eldon Dorvod Beck 2013 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: January 28, 2013. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Eldon Dorvod Beck, 81, Bridgewater, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at Upper Branch, he was a son of the late Arthur James and Agnes Cora (Aulenback) Beck. Prior to retirement, he was employed for 32 years with the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation as a machine operator. Surviving are his loving companion of many years, Ruby Kathleen (Croft) Lohnes, Bridgewater; daughters, Pauline (Dana) Cuvelier, Dartmouth; Donna Selig ,Cookville; Cathy (Rickey) Hebb, Chester Basin; Aileen (Peter) Smith, Baker Settlement; Wendy Beck, Midville Branch; Barbara (Gary) Lowe, Hemford; sons, Eugene (Elaine)Beck, Italy Cross; Gary Beck, Winnipeg; Kevin Beck, Bridgewater; brother, Lester (Helen) Beck, Upper Branch; sister, Doris Selig, East Clifford; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Basil Beck; brothers, Lawson Beck and Donald Beck. Visitation 2-4 p.m., Tuesday in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, Rev. Paul Jensen officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
