    3. UNKNOWN PAPER - 28 NOVEMBER 1946 MRS. GEORGE MACLANDERS - The community of Brule, and outlying district mourn the death of Mrs. George MacLANDERS, (nee Jennie Belle MacKAY) which occurred at the home of her son, Arthur MacLANDERS on November 18th. Although in failing health for some time, she was not confined to her room, until about 8 days preceeding her demise. Mrs. MacLANDERS possessed a kind, sympathetic and loving nature, and her gracious personality endeared her to the hearts of all who knew her and will long be remembered. Faithful to her family and church, she was a clever scholar and taught school in her younger days for a great many years. She was a staunch member of the Presbyterian faith, and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was born at Waughs River, 88 years ago, a daughter, of the late Mr. and Mrs. James McKAY, her husband, George MacLANDERS, predeceased her, over fifteen years ago. The surviving family included Elizabeth at Tatamagouche Mtn., Ruth U.S.A., Minnie, Irene, Marion and Isabelle, all of Sask, Canada. John R. and Arthur at Brule, Angus and George in B.C. There are 31 Grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. ROSS, and Mrs. DONALDSON, surviving. Her pastor, Rev. M. MacDONALD conducted the funeral service a short service at 1.30 at the home, and 2 p.m. at Brule church, which was largely attended. The text Heb. 6-12 That ye be not slothful; but followers of the faith, who through faith and patience inherit the Promises. Rev. Mr. MacDONALD exemplified her great patience, cheerfulness and faith which gave inspiration to all who knew her. The Hymns sung by the choir were, "The Lord's my Shepherd," "Sweetly Resting", and "Asleep in Jesus." There were six pall bearers George DONALDSON, Carl, Don, Kenzie and Walter MacLANDERS and Hugh SUTHERLAND. There were many beautiful floral tributes from the immediate family, and one from the W.M.S., of which she was a faithful worker.
