Chronicle Herald - Thursday, 12 May 1966 - Page 2 - S. S. Mitchell - Sterling Seldon Mitchell, Dartmouth, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Mitchell, died Monday. Born in Jeddore, he was a retired CNR car inspector, a member of Willow Park Lodge, No. 409, East Fall River Baptist Church, and a former member of St. Mark's Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Bessie, Dartmouth; one daughter, Vera (Mrs. Thomas Ashley), Dartmouth; two sons, Donald, U.S.A.; and Vernon, Spryfield; four step-sons, Willis, Halifax; Arthur, Armdale; John, Halifax; and George, Fall River; one step-daughter, Helen (Mrs. Boutilier), Sackville; four brothers, Jack, Ira, and Herbert, in Halifax and Lawson, residing in U.S.A.; 30 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Jean and Evelyn; two sons Carlton and Douglas, and a brother, Austin, are dead. The body is at Snow's Funeral Home with the funeral at 2:30 p.m. today from East Fall River Baptist Church, Rev. George L. McNeil officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. Bessie Umlah was a widow, and the daughter of John and Sarah (Davis) Pineo.
