Burpee Leon Mailman 1927 Bridgewater Bulletin After a brief illness of three days, Burpee Leon, five months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mailman, New Germany passed away on Monday morning, June 13th. He leaves to mourn their loss, the mother and father, two sisters, Phyllis and Bernice; and one brother, Merville. Interment took place on Wednesday morning at the Lutheran Cemetery. Services were conducted at the home and at the Lutheran Church by their pastor, Rev. George Innis, who spoke very comforting words to the mourners and took as his text part of the first verse of Job 21: "The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." Miss Hilda Hubley sang the very appropriate solo,"Ther's a Home for Little Children Above the Bright Blue Sky."
