UNKNOWN PAPER - 25 JANUARY 1967 GEORGE TUCKER - The death of George TUCKER, Amherst Shore, occurred on Tuesday afternoon, January 10, at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. He was 90. He was born at Tatamagouche Mountain, son of the late George and Elizabeth (COCK) TUCKER. He was the last surviving member of a family of eight. The late Mr. TUCKER was predeceased by his wife, the former Nora NELSON of Tatamagouche, five years ago. He is survived by two sons, Merle of Brookfield, Carl of Hamilton, Ont., and a daughter (Ella) Mrs. Layton GREENO, Amherst Shore, with whom he had resided for the past four and a half years, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was a member and elder of Sharon United Church, Tatamagouche, from where the funeral was held on Friday, January 13. The service was conducted by the Rev. James FRASER. The choir under the direction of Mrs. Austin CREIGHTON, sang favorites of the deceased "Day is Dying in the West," "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" and John COULTER sang "The Old Rugged Cross." The pallbearers were nephews, Harry and Bruce TUCKER, Hugh and Gordon BAILLIE, Roy and Ralph McNUTT. Interment took place in Lockerby Cemetery with Harry BONNYMAN as Funeral Director.
