    3. Berlyn William Flemming 1959 Bridgewater Bulletin Friends throughout New Germany and surrounding communities were saddened to learn of the death of Berlyn William Flemming which occurred at his home Wednesday, June 3rd., following a period of illness. Berlyn was hospitalized and operated on April 25th., for a brain tumour. Everything in the line of medical care was given him but to no avail. He rallied after the operation and regained sufficient strength to return home. He was only home a short time when he became ill again and before he passed away he became unconscious. He will be sadly missed in the home, by his fellow labourers as he was a labourer and mechanic, and also conducted a garage when first moving to New Germany. Berlyn William Flemming was born at Stanburne 41 years ago, son of Asaph Lorenzo Flemming and Ida Louise Ramey Flemming. His mother predeceased him in 1952. They lived in Stanburne for a number of years and then moved to New Germany. Always of a sunny disposition, he will be greatly missed not only in the home circle but by his friends who deeply feel the loss of a dear one "Gone home." Surviving are his wife (nee Beulah Hull); four children, Robert, Arthur, Margaret, and Sherwood; his father, Mr. Asaph L. Flemming; a brother, Ivan; and a number of relatives. The funeral which was held on Friday, 2 o'clock at St. John's Anglican Church, conducted by Rev. W.A. Trueman, was largely attended. Hymns sung were "Abide With Me," "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," and "O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee." The pall-bearers were Edward Zwicker, Maynard Varner, Merlyn Wright, and Jacob Penney. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery beside his mother. Deppest sympathy is extended to his wife and chidlren, his father, his brother and family, and all other relatives.
