Simeon M. Cook 1946 Bridgewater Bulletin The little community of Stanley Section was shocked and saddened on Tuesday, November 5, to hear of the sudden passing of one of its oldest and respected citizens, Simeon M. Cook, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Sidney Wiles, with whom he resided. Deceased had apparently been in good health and was quite active doing chores on the farm until the time the Angel of Death claimed him as its victim. He was 79 years of age, son of the late Simeon and Rachael (Rhodenizer) Cook, of Upper Branch. During the early years of his married life he lived at Branch LaHave, thence to Middletown, Conn., where he lived for 13 years. Grief-stricken after the death of his wife, the former Miss Bessie Brady, of Italy Cross, he returned to Nova Scotia, where he lived the remainder of his life with his sister. He leaves to mourn the loss of a kind and loving brother, two sisters, (Lydia), Mrs. Sidney Wiles, Stanley Section; and (Janetta), widow of Amos Langille of Bridgewater; a number of nieces and nephews to whom he was deeply attached; and numerous other relatives and friends. A son, Ralph, predeceased him 23 years ago; also two brothers, Samuel and Silas. The funeral was held at his late residence and at the church.
