S. Eldridge Tumblin 1985 Bridgewater Bulletin S. Eldridge Tumblin, age 91, Bayport, formerly of LaHave Islands, passed away January 15, 1985, in the F.M. Hospital. Born at LaHave Islands, he was a son of the late Simon and Delta (Himmelman) Tumblin. He was a retired fisherman. He went fishing for 71 years. He is survived by a brother, Carl, Bayport. He was predeceased by his wife, Melinda; three brothers, Ellison, Spray, and Urban. Funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 1985, Rev. Laurence Mawhinney officiating. Hymns sung were "Let the Lower Lights be Burning" and "Abide With Me." Rev. Laurence Mawhinney and his wife sang the first hymn with friends joining in on the last one. Burial was in LaHave Islands Cemetery. Pallbearers were Malcolm Baggett, Marshall Publicover, Leon Hirtle, Lorraine Reinhardt, Wade Hirtle, and Frank Mcauley.
