James W. Veinotte 1947 Bridgewater Bulletin James W. Veinotte passed away suddenly at his home Friday morning, December 5, 1947, in the presence of his wife and son, DeWayne. Although not in the best of health he had driven the mail from Dalhousie Road to Dalhousie East and return on the previous day (this route he had driven for more than twenty years) and Friday morning attended to the usual chores and was about to get ready to go to Bridgewater for a medical check-up, when he dropped from his chair and passed away immediately. The deceased was a life-long resident of Dalhousie and a member of the Anglican Church. His mother predeceased him just one year ago. Mr. Veinotte was 72 years of age, and besides his wife, the former Georgie Gray, is survived by three daughters, Gertrude, Mrs. Ettney Oikle, of Long island, New York; Lona, Mrs. Ralph Henley of Northfield, Queens County; and Elaine, Mrs. Maurice Daniels of Cape Cod, Mass.; and five sons, Everette of Milan, N.H.; Ethan of Peel, N.B.; Loraine of Kingston, N.S.; DeWayne, at home; and Ronald of Halifax. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. All the family arrived home with the exception of Everett, who sent a telegram of sympathy to his mother. The funeral was on Monday afternoon, with prayers at the home and services at the Anglican Church and cemetery, the Rev. R.A. Neish officiating. Much sympathy is extended to the family, especially Mrs. Veinotte, who has been in very delicate health for some time.
